About Speak Dog Training

My name is Betty and I am the founder of Speak Dog - Positive Dog Training, and my connection with dogs is more than a profession; it's a profound bond with our cherished four-legged companions.

I completed the Delta Institute Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training and the L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® Professional Course with Kim Brophey.

My greatest mentor has been my dog Betson — a source of joy, a silent confidant, and a reflection of the intricate emotions that make dogs unique. His nuanced communication has taught me to listen with both ears and eyes.

Understanding the "Why" behind our dogs' actions has led me to prioritise building relationships based on trust and connection, where 'obedience' takes a back seat to impart essential life skills.

Betson faced his challenges, navigating reactivity and separation distress, which heightened my sensitivity to the emotional landscapes of our beloved companions. It's not just about training; it's about offering a steady hand, a compassionate heart, and a deep understanding of their world. I get it; dealing with your furry friend's challenges can be tough.
